Thanks for the comments. We were looking at Onyx’s “RecoverPro” service which is like what you said Suzanne – it tracks your GDS segments (including ghost/memo segments) and chases commissions for you from that for a small additional fee. This is different from when you get paid through Onyx just because the supplier uses them – I think they’re pretty useless in that regard. But I’d also be interested in feedback if anyone is using RecoverPro. We held off on it because they have a minimum 2 year signing term, but with the volume of pay-direct GDS bookings we have I still wonder if they would be worthwhile.

We went with what used to be called Netrans, but is now Onyx Centre Source (or something like that) which is meant to pull the information down from your GDS automatically and chase them from that information. There is also a (paid) Tramada module that is available, but we haven’t got that. Overall I would say it is adequate, but not great.

Hi Adrienne, We’ve been using Onyx for a few years & receive regular monthly cheques together with pax name, hotel & itemised amounts. We’ve found them really useful.

Hi All. We also have a Qantas Amex card. We were told we couldn’t join Bus Rewards, then we were told we could. Then we were told again that we couldn’t. Then we were invited to join (!) so we did! I think maybe it was an automatic invitation as an Amex cardholder. We haven’t received notification yet that our current scheme is being changed, thanks for the heads up. Our points currently automatically transfer to QFFF account…would that make a difference maybe? I know first-hand that Helloworld agents are offered a lot of Amex products and schemes.

Hi Jacqui – we use the standard one and yes I think it is somehow linked to Helloworld as they used to actually print Helloworld on our cards until we told them not to! Anyway, we redeem the points through Amex Merchant Travel or store for vouchers and works quite well – I think Hema compared it with the Business rewards one and they were much the same as far as value for points and earnings.
